July 29 brought us much joy as our Sister Maria of the Holy Family made her Solemn Profession of Vows. Our Carmelite Provincial, Father Daniel Chowning, OCD presided at the Mass, joined by Father Nicolas Nguyen, Sr. Maria’s brother, our Chaplain Fr. Mark O’Keefe, OSB, and Our Benedictine friends Fr. Tobias Colgan and Fr. Bede Cisco. Sister Maria’s family, relatives, and friends came from California to participate in the ceremony of her Profession and to share in our joy.
